Code of Conduct
Last updated: 9 October 2025 (NZT)
Creating a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment
This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our Event, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behaviour.
Agile on the Beach NZ (AOTBNZ) values integrity, safety, and diversity. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and religion (or lack thereof).
All Participants — including attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, trustees, guests, and suppliers — agree to follow this Code of Conduct.
Expected behaviour
Participate actively; be considerate in speech and action; collaborate before conflict; refrain from unacceptable behaviour (see below); look out for others; and speak up if something’s not right.
Unacceptable behaviour
Harassment and discrimination will not be tolerated. Examples include: abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning speech or actions; intimidation or stalking; harmful or prejudicial spoken or written comments related to gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion; unwanted physical contact; harassing photography or recording; nudity, sexual imagery, or graphic violence in slides; and sustained disruption of sessions. Please note that Event venues may be shared with the public—please be respectful to all patrons.
Reporting and support
If you experience or witness unacceptable behaviour, or have any other concerns, please talk to any Crew member (look for crew T-shirts), Trustee, Venue staff, or email conduct@agileonthebeach.co.nz. We’ll acknowledge promptly during event hours, handle reports confidentially on a need-to-know basis, and we can help contact venue security or the police. Please note that retaliation against someone who reports a concern is itself a breach of this Code of Conduct. If you feel unsafe or in danger, call 111. In the context of in-person events, we will also provide escorts as desired by the person experiencing distress.
Consequences
We may take any action needed to keep people safe, including a warning, changing session access, contacting venue security, or removing access without refund. Serious or repeated breaches may result in a ban from future events. See our Ticketing Terms and Conditions for details.
Grievances
If you feel you have been falsely or unfairly accused of breaching this Code of Conduct, or you believe a decision under this Code of Conduct was unfair, you should email a concise description of your grievance to conduct@agileonthebeach.co.nz within 14 days. A Trustee not involved in the original decision will review and respond.
