Coaching OKRs

masterclass with David Morris

Are you an agile coach whose teams struggle to focus on outcomes over outputs? Do you want to unlock the power of writing meaningful objectives and key results (OKRs), so you can inspire your teams to consistently deliver exceptional outcomes?

For the past 15 years, David has been working as a coach at the team, tribe, and enterprise level; and a good part of the last 5 years has been spent focusing on OKRs helping teams see how their work connects with the purpose of the whole organisation. He has coached over 100 teams and squads through multiple quarters on how to draft and improve OKRs, and has noticed a pattern to how this goes (when it goes well).

Join him to get hands-on experience of elements from the Coaching OKRs programme he is developing to help agile coaches guide their teams in overcoming the fear of creating objectives that seem out of their scope of influence.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Refresh on what well-crafted OKRs look like – including how they are different from and complementary to KPIs

  • Re-think how your teams engage with quarterly planning (from an OKR perspective)

  • Learn useful patterns and techniques for giving strong feedback that helps your teams in drafting their OKRs

  • Help your teams see the power in linking their Sprint goals to their OKRs, so that they can anticipate how delighted their stakeholders will be when they hit their objectives out of the park

  • Be the first people in the world to learn how to play the new Rule the World, a card game for learning how to set OKRs, developed with Scott Provence.

  • You’ll also get your own deck to take away and play with your teams.
