2019
MOUNT MAUNGANUI, TAURANGA
IN 2019 WE DELIVERED THE FIRST AGILE ON THE BEACH NEW ZEALAND.
Mauao (Mount Maunganui), you were beautiful. Speakers, you were incredible. Sponsors, you were generous. Crew, you enabled change to happen. Attendees, you made the event! Over the weekend of April 5-7 2019, we had 110 people gather together for the inaugural Agile on the Beach NZ.
While some knew each other beforehand; we all left the weekend richer and wiser from the time spent together, with strong connections, bonds, and community.
Our theme for 2019 was People. Change. Impact … Tangata. Hurihanga. Whakaaweawe … and Jandals. We explored the coaching role, how we nurture and protect each other and ourselves, how we develop our ability to handle change, and how we help others develop too.
Over three days, we had half-day masterclasses in coaching, lean change, and sense-making, we had two international keynotes, two 45-minute workshops, a wide range of 20-minute talks, and a series of open spaces.
We are honoured and moved to see how much value everyone took. The conversations continue through social media channels, and we plan to set up a Slack channel specifically so people can sustain the community.

MOUNT MAUNGANUI, TAURANGA
IN 2020 WE RETURNED TO THE MOUNT FOR OUR SECOND AGILE ON THE BEACH NEW ZEALAND CONFERENCE
Building on the success of our inaugural 2019 conference, we returned to Mount Maunganui over the weekend of March 13-15 2020 for our second event. We grew from 110 to 150 participants, with some fantastic masterclasses, keynotes, workshops, and talks — and great support from our crew and sponsors.
Our theme for 2020 was Connect. Recharge. Grow … Tūhono, Whākakaha, Ka Whanake … and (again) jandals.
Over three days, we had half-day masterclasses in Developing your Leadership Philosophy, Visual Facilitation, Building Resilience, and a Coaching Dojo; we had two keynotes, seven 45-minute workshops, a wide range of 20-minute talks, and a series of open spaces.
We are honoured and moved to see how much value everyone took. The conversations continue through social media channels, and we plan to set up a Slack channel specifically so people can sustain the community.
2021 & 2022
Sadly Covid-19 threw a spanner in the works and we had to halt the preparations for the 2021 and decided not to have a 2022 event due to uncertainty of lockdowns.
